Additional Initiatives

A pipeline is only a pipeline if a student can move through it without falling out between levels. Support at every level creates a sense of community among emerging leaders.

EMERGE Scholars Fund

Scholarship support for EMERGE fellows continuing to college, awarded on the strength of the leadership record a fellow has already built rather than on test scores alone.

Facilitator Institute

Certification for teachers, counselors, and youth workers to run EMERGE sessions inside their own schools and organizations, with materials and a year of facilitator support.

Alumni Council

The return loop of the pipeline. Middle school students are mentored by high school fellows, who are mentored by college alumni, who are advised by the graduate cohort — and each tier owes the one below it.

School Partnership Program

Multi-year agreements with Philadelphia schools placing both the middle and high school programs in the same building, so a student can move from Discover to Develop without changing institutions.

Family Leadership Nights

Evening sessions where families work the same Personal Compass and Remote Control exercises their students did, so the vocabulary survives outside the classroom.

Summer Civic Intensive

A week of deliberation, policy drafting, and public-service placements for rising fellows, run with civic partners across the city.
